BHI powder is highly nutritious and is applied in number of media for cultivation of highly fastidious microorganisms, such as in BHI Agar/Broth, SABHI Agar Base, etc. to grow Staphylococci, Streptococci, Haemophilus and Neisseria species and pathogenic fungi.

Application:

  Used for cultivation of highly fastidious microorganisms like Streptococci,Pneumococci, Meningococci, Haemophilus, Neisseria sp. and pathogenic fungi. A highly nutritious mixture of calf brain infusion and beef heart infusion A number of fastidious organisms, including some bacteria, yeasts, and other fungi, grow well on BHI. It can also be used to differentiate between enterococci and group D streptococci.
